Vida Movahedi had been jailed in Iran since October 2018 for twice peacefully and publicly protesting the country's compulsory hijab law. She was released on May 28, her lawyer Payam Derafshan said on Instagram, adding that the remainder of her one-year sentence has been "forgiven."
