..."remember the Palestinian people in Gaza have NO shelter, they have NO early warning systems, they have no operative civil defense, they are naked. And they can fly no where because they are incarcerated in this little piece of land - by the same occupant (i think he means occupier) who is bombing them. So this is such a merciless and cowardly way of waging warfare. At least - at least - the Palestinians are fighting against tanks, Israeli tanks; but the Israelis are fighting against children and women. And that is despicable.
... the Palestinian bravery and courage, as i see it every day, is unyielding. I don't think the Palestinian people are going to give in to an occupant and a brutal procedure that shows no mercy whatsoever, no human feelings ...

Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian surgeon volunteering at a Gaza hospital, called the conflict a “major defeat for the development of humanity,” in an interview with Al Arabiya News Channel:
Gilbert practices in Gaza’s al-Shifa’a Hospital, where he and Palestinian medical personnel have worked to save the lives of hundreds of civilians who were injured during Israel’s strikes on the Gaza strip.
“What we see playing out under our eyes is the total lack of respect for international humanitarian laws,” he told the interviewer, in reference to the Israeli army’s ongoing offensive against the Gaza Strip, which has led to the deaths of over 1,400 people.
Gilbert previously invited U.S. President Barack Obama to spend a night in the hospital to see the consequences of the Israeli assault on the Palestinian enclave.
