27 Feb 1973~Wounded Knee,S.Dakota,U.S.A!!

On this day, 40 years ago, around 200 Oglala Lakota Indians took control over the city of Wounded Knee, South Dakota. It lasted until 5th May 1973, when the government took control again over Wounded Knee. Four persons died, one Cherokee activist, one Lakota activist and a human rights activist, as well as a FBI-agent.

The real tragedy behind the Wounded Knee Incident, is that Native land was called occupied, when the rightful owners of it, took it back. In May 1973, USA REOCCUPIED Native land in Pine Ridge, but it seems like many don't know. Let us all take a moment to honor the people that stood up and claimed their land, because they fought for what we believe in.
