This is not by a Marxist Leninist paper. It's by a staunch pro capitalist publication. The truth sometimes becomes so clear and acquires such urgency that it's hard to avoid and becomes necessary to bring up to try and find a solution. When corporate papers admit to such fact, it's for the purpose of finding a way out and to avoid the collapse of the system. It's a call for "change" to prevent its destruction. Don't be surprised to see sectors of imperialist elite pivot towards more "liberal" defenders of capitalism and imperialism, such as Bernie Sanders in order to lengthen the lifetime of the system. The left must remain alert to such changes of the face of imperialism.

For now, such calls for change will be ignored and pushed aside, even by those making the call. For now, the most aggressive and hawkish defenders of imperialism and global capital, like Hillary Clinton, will continue to impose the corporate rule in its most belligerent and oppressive way until the situation becomes much more dire and more calls for change will be heard. Then, they'll bring out the most liberal the system has to offer, first, the likes of Bernie and then Jill Stein, to try to calm fears and chisel the system to make it last a bit longer.

The left must by then unite to form a real socialist alternative and reject all offers by the ruling class that aim to maintain the status quo and the power structure and the capitalist system. A tell-tale sign that the system is being preserved is that the change is implemented at the top with levers of power and corporations remaining intact as well as the continuation of the bourgeois elections with capitalist parties free to participate and campaign and their media advocates free to operate and misinform the public in the name of "democracy", which is nothing but the dictatorship of capital over labor. The left must learn to draw a distinction between itself and liberal defenders of the system whether they call themselves "socialist" or not.
نیروهای چپ باید تا آنموقع با اتحاد برای تشکیل یک بدیل سوسیالیستی واقعی و رد تمامی پیشنهادات طبقه حاکم که هدفش حفظ وضع موجود و ساختار قدرت و نظام سرمایه داری ست اقدام ورزد(ناگفته پیداست که نظر نویسنده این سطور در جای دیگری مطرح شده و لزوما هیچگونه خوانائی با این متن نداشته و طبعا درک من از نیروهای به اصطلاح"چپ" نیز با نویسنده این متن متفاوت میباشد-م) . نشانه داستان گویائی که سیستم در حال حفظ شدن است همانا اعمال این تغییرات از بالا با اهرم های قدرت و دست نخوردن کمپانی ها و همچنین ادامه انتخابات بورژوائی با آزادی احزاب سرمایه داری برای شرکت در کمپین انتخاباتی و آزاد بودن دست طرفداران رسانه هایشان در گمراه کردن مردم تحت لوای "دموکراسی" است، که چیزی جز دیکتاتوری سرمایه بر کار نمیباشد. نیروهای چپ باید یاد بگیرند خط متمایزی بکشند بین خود و مدافعان لیبرال سیستم. مهم نیست که آنها خود را "سوسیالیست" میخوانند یا نه.

How do we expect to feed that many people while we exhaust the resources that remain?

Human activities are behind the extinction crisis. Commercial agriculture, timber extraction, and infrastructure development are causing habitat loss and our reliance on fossil fuels is a major contributor to climate change.
Public corporations are responding to consumer demand and pressure from Wall Street. Professors Christopher Wright and Daniel Nyberg published Climate Change, Capitalism and Corporations last fall, arguing that businesses are locked in a cycle of exploiting the world’s resources in ever more creative ways.
“Our book shows how large corporations are able to continue engaging in increasingly environmentally exploitative behaviour by obscuring the link between endless economic growth and worsening environmental destruction,” they wrote.
Yale sociologist Justin Farrell studied 20 years of corporate funding and found that “corporations have used their wealth to amplify contrarian views [of climate change] and create an impression of greater scientific uncertainty than actually exists.”
