Another anniversary to contemplate today

29 years ago today(3 of decembre). The central Indian province
of Bhopal was subjected to one of the largest(to date) industrial  disasters produced under capitalism. In the span of an hour the Unión Carbide facility(formally the worlds LARGEST petrochemical firm. Now disolved and whose assets were sold between DOW and MONSANTO) leaked enough methyl isocyanate to kill between  10-20 THOUSAND PEOPLE.
And in the past few decades the residual contamination has continued to maim, injure and kill thousands in the región.This massive discrepancy is due to the lack of an active census in the región and the cultural stipulations around immediate burial after death. Entire family lineages were erased. Communities have been fighting for nearly three decades for compensation (capitalism is such a predatory and inherently non-compassionate entity that after it kills our families all we can really do is ask for $$$ as compensation) to no avail. If it's been difficult for families to receive even minimal financial support from BP after the Deep Water Horizon incident, imagine this incident; separated by time, space and parent company liability. This is the historical legacy that we are capable of creating.
